"I create chaotic drawings with elliptical narratives that are at once lucid and surprising. I use the narrative of failure, ambiguity, and discomposure to explore the obscure terrain between our internal desires and the external world."-Jeffrey Beebe
Hi!! Sorry, I should have contacted you for permission first before posting. I am an admirer! If you would like me to take them down I definitely will.
As a child I think my secret dream was either to be a red winged blackbird or be carried away by one, to the top of my favorite tulip tree that was larger than life.
I always thought them to be so daring- such bold colors but they would just hang out in the tall grass- clear as day. Right in the path of the evil one-eyed cat of the neighborhood that went by the name "kitty-kitty". If so small a bird could ever carry a person away, it would be a red winged black bird.
I grew up in Indianapolis and red-wings were always very rare and exotic to me as a kid because you couldn't see them every day--you had to get out of the city and into the county to see them. The were like parrots or flamingoes to when when I was very young. Then I got older and learned that red-wings are one of the most common birds in North America. Something kind of disappointing in learning that but also something nice about thinking a very common thing is magical or rare or exotic.
Hi. It's amazing what a google search turns up. Thanks for posting images of my work.
