Like You Would Do To One That You Loved
The lights are put out. Dishes cleaned and put away. as I sleep the apartment ghost turns down the thermostat. And I always wake up with the chills. From here, I make only a shallow effort to keep warm; an unending lack of desire, a fault to the eagerness that was once reserved for obscure objects.
